Life after death

Dear Prashant,
Was fortunate to be US with Satguru in 1998. After his discourse in Pittsburgh, an educated gentlemen asked Satguru the same question and here is what Satguru replied: If the crow has not had his lunch or he is hungry he will take it otherwise crow will not touch it.
Secondly, I agree with Dr. Pol - we should worry thinking how we can be happy in this birth.
Thirdly, we should be grateful to a person who passed away and remember what he has done for us. This helps his soul which is non-destructible. Life is continous.
Fourth, let's not think negative and ruin our current life by saying since the crow did not touch the rice now the soul is unhappy. Crow has nothing to do with it - it is the subtle impressions of good and bad karmas of the person itself that governs his/her happiness.
Hope I did not confuse you...
PS: Please join the eAbhyasVarg. You will get answers to many more such questions....

Subhashjee,
Your post does not answer why the crow became suddenly hungry...
Quoting from the original post: Bhat kavalyasati thevlyavar khup kavle jama zale aju baju chya vastu tyani khalya pan te pindala kahi shivale nahit. Khup vela nantar tynchi muli baddal iccha vyakt kelyavar kavla legch shivla.
There are so many unexplained things in this world. Somebody has said "Sufficiently advanced technology is no different from magic". I do not understand electricity sufficiently well. Yet I accept that pressing a button lights on a lamp. I am accepting this opportunity to interact on this forum with people whom I could never have dreamed interacting with,,,, without really understanding the mechanism that drives the internet.... There is a limit to one's curiosity, or if there is not, one should limit one's curiosity consciously. Otherwise we cannot get on with our own life. We should accept our limitations with open eyes, open mind, in this regard and just ensure that we do not fall prey to blind faith.
May the lord give us peace from incessant doubt, constant pressures and internal intrigue.

Dear MK,
problem is not whether why a crow picked it up later - problem is associating the behaviour of crow with the man who has died. So many things in life are unexplained. But you should not have BADARAYAN SAMBANDHA. That is what Satguru is trying to suggest. Do not correlate things imaginatively. Hope you get the point.
Secondly you do not know which crow touched the rice. Was it the same crow? You do not know what the crow did when it was out of sight. You do not know what happens to you when you die. You do not no so many things. Problem is correlating two things wrongly.
Jai Satguru, Jai Jeevanvidya. Hope you are reading the Sharir Sakshat eAbhyasVarga.

Accepted, Subhashjee, accepted.
For me, the fact that the bulb glows when I press a switch can only be explained by something which would be no different from Badaraayana Sambandha if I know not my electricity. For me, the explanation given for the planets' motion around the Sun (gravity) is also nothing more than that if I do not know my mechanics. It requires lot of investment on various fronts to acquire the basis upon which the various theories of Physics rest. One may choose to ignore theory and accept the explanation given by school satgurus. Anyone who does that is accepting something that he does not KNOW to be different from Badaraayana Sambandha.
My post was not about the crow episode at all. It was just an entry point. My main contention is that we should limit our curiosity, shut our jnanendriyaas, and blindly accept explanations OUTSIDE THE AREA OF INVOLVEMENT WHICH WE SHOULD DEMARCATE FOR OUR OWN PEACE. "...... kaalah kreedati gach-chhati aayuh tadapi ne mu-n-chati aashaavaayuh || Bhaja go-vindam bhaja go-vindam bhaja go-vindam moodhamate | Praapte san-nihite kaale nahi-nahi rakshati dukrun-karane ||
Bhaja Go-vindam......"
-- Sri Shankaraachaarya
But I accept what you say about the original theme in general.
Thanks and regards Milind Khadilkar

MK,
You seem to be a creative gentleman. Liked your pictures. Original. You definitely have a very rich sense of humour.
However disagree with you on one thing - we should accept by shutting the curiosity. No we should not accept anything as truth. Only when it is 'understood' logically. If you do not know gravity you will treat it as a miracle. But a scientist will say that there is a reason but I do not know the reason. Since the phenomenon is universal, repeatable, independent of time, geography - tend to conclude that this is the law of nature. I would not attribute the GRAHAN to RAHU/KETU if I do not know the shadows. I will say that I do not know. Anyways, believe you have understood the point.
But JV encourages not to accept anything until it is accepted on merits of the case in point.
Satguru talks about Andhashraddha as SARASAR VICHAR NA KARTA THEVLELI SHRADDHA. e.g. if you go to a doctor who is say MD or MS and do not yet have his experience in terms of how he treats and whether you really get well because of his treatment - you still do not know everything about him - but you are not blindly following him - you are saying that he is MD/MS. University-se aisehi degree thodihi milta hain. This is DOLAS SHRADDHA. Doctor may turn out to be a cheat. But DOLAS SHRADDHA is much better and safer than ANDHASHRADDHA. This is the real point.
In one of the training courses I attended the faculty member drew a dot on the white blank board and said "This is how much we know." Then he said "Rest of the white board is how much we do not know" and added "rest of the world is how much we do not know that we do not know!" Agree with you that we are limited to that dot as of now. But within the dot I do not want iota of blind faith.
Do not want to split hair. Let's stop the discussion on this topic here. If need be write me a seprate one on one mail.
Warm regards, Subhash
