Delhi is to the north of Mumbai, Delhi is to the North-East of Mumbai, Delhi is East-of-North of Mumbai, Delhi is 10°19'′N, 4°88′E of Mumbai are all varying degrees of truth. .Fuzzy logic is a valid scientific discipline that allows verious degrees of truth. + End of Note
Yaa maryaadit arthaane, swatahchyaa samaadhaanaasaathee jar naam-dhaarak JV la "scientific" mhanat asteel tar te theek aahe.

MK,
JV is scientific because it is based on laws of nature which do not change over a period of time, as per nation - basically universal and eternal. We insist on it because it is the true. True or false are very different meanings of SATYA and ASATYA. In Vedanta, the meaning of SATYA is NITYA, that which does not change over a period of time - and in that regard JV is SATYA. If we take this meaning of SATYA then there can not be varying degrees of SATYA and hence only two states - either ASATYA or SATYA.

Namonamah
Thanks, Subhashjee,
QUOTE If we take this meaning of SATYA then there can not be varying degrees of SATYA and hence only two states - either ASATYA or SATYA. UNQUOTE
In that case, how does JV help people respond pragmatically to the various shades of truth that we find in jeevan?
Thanks and Regards

MK,
please look at the definition - SATYA means NITYA. SATYA does not mean TRUE and ANITYA does not mean false. A human being even if he is ANITYA still exists and is not false. Different shades of ANITYA are NITYA-NOOTAN + different forms of manifested chaitanyashakti and SANSKARAS on that Chaitanyashakti.

Namonamah, Subhashjee, belated thanks for the answer. I am beginning to appreciate this answer now. Is satya subjective? Can I judge what is satya and what is not? Will your judgment match mine? Or am I incapable of judging it? How would we classify paradoxes like Russell's paradox? Thanks and Regards Milind Khadilkar (For those who have not come across this delight: Russell's paradox is not a verbal paradox created by a play on words, but one that points to a serious gap in our conceptual infrastructure . http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Russell's_paradox)

MK,
do not have time to go through the RP.
With SATYA means NITYA. Everything in this world is a manifestation of this NITYA. Now the manifestation itself may get transformed into different forms - liquid, solid, gas, panchamahabhoot, various other elements, energy, etc. but the NITYA remains.
True or false meanings of Satya or Asatya are not implied in Vedanta and by Satguru in SAT-CHIT-ANAND narrations.
Hope this helps.
