Namonamah

For the past two weeks, I have been trying to chant VP. I find it fairly easy to chant it 500 times a day, and it won't be difficult doing it a 1000 times if I try. Some notable things:

1. Contrary to Sant Kabirjee's admoniition (दुख में सुमिरन सब करे....) I found it natural to chant when I was in a happy mood.
2. I never chanted aloud. I did not even mutter or make lip movements.  But I let my tongue form the woirds, so that after a point, my tongue felt tired, the inside of my mouth got fairly hot and I had to take a break.

3. JV says we should chant it at night while going to sleep. I found that exasperating. On the two occasions I tried, I kept chanting on and on, and lost sleep and had a bad next day at work.

4. I tried on one day not to let VP get chanted even involuntarily even once. Failed at it. It chants on its own.
5. I tried with my mobile prompting me every five minutes. In response, if I could, I chanted VP to the extent work allowed. In this manner, I could chant an additional 300 times during a work day without disturbing work.

6. I am chanting without giving thought to the meaning of words of VP, or to the intent behind VP as a whole.
7. I am chanting without any belief or faith. I am told it works nevertheless.

Thanks and regards

To,
MK,

That is what was my experience inthe beginning  of chanting VP.

This happens with everyone in the beginning.Because  even though the VP looks very simple,
it is not that simple to chant it,one reason is ,it has deep meaning in it  and the other reason is
our mind, which does not allow us to do it.

I would request you to read Sadguru's Book "Naamacha Nandadeep",in that he has explained the
chanting of Naam . In the first topic itself , he has explained how it is very difficult tio chant Naam ,
in the beginning And how to overcome this difficulty.

VP is similar to Naam.He has said, it's like a medicine , which is bitter ,but by hook oo crook ,we have to take it , once it goes into our body, it starts showing the results.

VP/Naam  should be chanted in the beginning with a stubborn attitude/firm determination.Gradually it develops it's own taste and  a time comes when you start liking it.Then you get various good experiences on your own.

For starting it chanting with stubborn attitude ,it will be helpful , if we chant it with applying gratitudewith it ,for those who  have been very helpful in our lives for e. g. mother, father ,teacher, doctor, sweaper ,washerman etc.,etc. if we chant the VP keeping in mind these
people ,it will be easy to develop interest & liking for chanting JV, which is going to be helpful for us
only.

Please go through the Book "Naamacha NAndadeep".

Thanking You,
God bless all

Meena.
