Let's be consistent with JV philosophy when we use any quotes:

"Life is 10 percent what you make it, and 90 percent how you take it." -Irving Berlin, Russian born American Lyricist and Composer (1888-1989)

This is not consistent with JV - which says 90% of your life is what you make of it. You need to take the rest of it as it comes - rather accept and get on with it.

is outwardly inconsistent with JV. But is it really so? I thought for a long time before deciding to put this quote in. The 90% "making" that JV talks about is largely the 90% "taking (positively)" that Berlin talks of. The 10% that JV says is not in our hands is what Berlin refers to as the challenge of "making" it. At least that is how I reconciled the two. As usual, being wrong is my birthright.
