साधनेने प्राप्त सिद्धी ही साध्य नाही साधन

Namonamah,
Recently changes in the JV programme on Akashvani have brought JV music to my ears. I complement JV on the talent that it manages to attract. Almost reminded me of the songs of Rashtra Seva Dal of the socialist movement ( of which, incidentally, another Pai viz., Shri Nath Pai was a great stalwart).

Music has an attractive quality to it which Kabeerdasjee has described:

सुमिरन सो मन लाइए, जैसे नाद कुरंग ।
कह कबीर बिसरै नहीं प्रान तजै तेहि संग ।।

It is possible that this attractive music might be popping up in mind when chanting VP, thus interfering with the chanting process. This is my experience. While chanting VP, suddenly the mind gets diverted to a relevant song.

It can be argued that the very songs which attracted people to Seva Dal (and acted as an effective vehicle for educating the public at large on social issues... and continues to do so) dwarfed the capabilities and potential of the movement itself. Hope JV does not follow the track. Also hope that the songs are not coming in the way of people chanting VP.

Thanks and regards
Milind khadilkar.
