Namonamah,

On the JV website there is a downloadable Marathi ebook called Vidyaarthyaannaa Maargadarshan.

1. Which age group is the book meant for? Students (as the term is normally understood) who are 12 year old and those who are 18 year old have distinct needs. I feel the book addresses mixed audience and some parts may be irrelevant or even bewildering to certain age groups. Would it not be better to split it into two or more parts?

2. I refer to Q11 in that book about extracurricular activities.
It advises students that if the goal of their learning is "career", they better stay away from extracurricular activities.

How do Naamdhaaraks feel about it.

Thanks and regards

Namaskar MK jee,

The guidance to students-the downloadable book is for all, the students in schools and colleges, teachers and parents.
The advice regarding extracurricular activities is given to average students who are not gifted in any particular art or have extraordinary skill.
Many times children whose parents are not much educated spend their precious time in playing games, participating in other extracurricular activities, chatting, etc and due to this, they lag behind in studies.

Therefore Shri Satguru has advised students to concentrate on studies.

May God bless all!

Namonamah,

Thanks, Dr. Nutanjee.
I request all to:
1. Please read the book from the point of view of an 8 year old.
2. Again, read the book from the point of view of an 18 year old.
I think you will realize that it contains a lot of material that is irrelevant to each age group. For example, the following questions seem irrelevant (even dangerous) for 8 year olds:2,4, 7, 18, 20, 22, 34, 36, 38, 39, 40, 43, 46;
Questions 3, 5, 9 are irrelevant for 18 year olds.

A big problem with this book is rather than giving a solution, it explains the reasons for the problems, which are inconsistent with the "solution in the circumstances" philosophy of JV. For example, Qs. 31, 35, 36, 38.
Also, some questions (or rather their answers) do not seem relevant to our times: e.g., 11, 12, 13

Also, the book stresses on self-employment/business to an extent that is unrealistic. It does not take into account personal factors, including personal likes and dislikes. Besides, telling a child not to bother about a job because of competition is just shifting the competition from college life to professional life.

Are children of JV members raised on this book?

Again, please read the book from the point of view of a 25-35 year old. This is the most likely agegroup of visitors to JV website. This book, being freely downloadable from the website, is likely to contribute to the early impression a curious visitor to the website would form about JV. Is this the right first impression a person should have of JV?
Thanks and regards
