SADGURU ALWAYS SAYS THAT NIYATI IS CONTROLLED BY THE PERSON HIMSELF IN THAT 90% OF IT IS IN OUR HANDS AND 10% IS NOT. WHY IS 10% OF IT NOT IN OUR HANDS. PLEASE EXPLAIN

Hello Gargi,
This is one of the good query.
As per what I understand from jeevan vidya is this 10 % covers the surrounding situation,people arround you, their thoughts,some things which are not in direct contact with you but may affect u.

pls correct me if you feel, I am wrong.

Thanks for the reply. I agree with you but if we continuously or mostly chant vishwaprarthana or do namsmaran and shubha chintan can't we even overcome that 10% ?

Hello Gargi,
Though we can not overcome those 10% , but we can try to minimise that 10% . We can use our wisdom and try to compromise (ie TADJOD) at some levels for those 10%.
Try to put interactions after the actions ( which u think needs some correction or which may not give you positive result) have been made.
Hence the result of the same will be definitely better than the one which comes from pure 10% case.
And offcourse Vishwaprathana and Shubhachintan have power of making the things /situations good for everyone.

जेंव्हा आपल्या आणि सहवासातील लोकांच्या विचारांत जास्त तफ़ावत नसते तेव्हा आपला व त्यांचा जास्त संघर्ष होत नाही पण तसे नसते तेंव्हा आपल्याला खूप धीर धरावा लागतो. संयम ठेवावा लागतो. शांतपणे प्रार्थना म्हणत समोरच्या माणसाचे विचार परिवर्तन होईपर्यंत वाट पहावी लागते. याला नियती म्हणता येईल. प्रार्थनेमुळे आपल्याकडे संयम व सहनशक्ती वाढेल. तसेच आपल्या positive thinking चा आपल्या विरोधी विचार असणार्या माणसाच्या मनावर लवकर परिणाम होईल. हे १०% जे आपल्याला सोसावे लागू शकते त्याचा positive उपयोग आपल्या psycho-spiritual growth साठी करून घेता येईल.विरोधी परिस्थिती सहन करत असताना आपल्या सदगुरूंवरील निष्ठेची व शरणागतीचीही कसोटी असते हे विसरून चालणार नाही. तेंव्हा नियती साथ देत असो कि नसो आपण आपले श्री. सदगुरूचरणावर निष्ठा ठेऊन दिलेली साधना व तन-मन-धनाने सेवा करण्यात रंगून जावे. सर्वांना ही गोडी लागो ही त्यांच्या चरणी प्रार्थना.

u know Gargi what i feel.why sadguru says like this that 90% in ur hand and 10% is out of ur hand.forget about NIYATI if we look towards our life u find same thing everything is not in our hand.Means we cant decide who will be our Parents we cant decide about our relatives we cant do anything about  color or height of our body.we have to adjust with it.That is 10% of life and i think  i t will not play major part in our life.Rest of the things are in our hand.Arent they?

The equation I have given above is not literally correct.

Another interpretation is, we have understood and imbibed only 10% of JeevanVidya and it is sufficient to handle 90% situations. As we master JeevanVidya better, more of the balance would be in our control.

One more interpretation: 90% is handled by JeevanVidya for us. The rest is in our hands. And that is because, we take it in our hands through ahankaara (aham for self , kar for hand), and a minute (however minute.... still not zero) lack of faith in JeevanVidya. we should not come in the way of JeevanVidya.

I am appearing very late ,in this discussion.
 
According to me,JV says, 10% not in our hand , includes the things like natural calamities, floods,earthquakes etc.We can not have control on these happenings in nature.
Jeevanvidya says ,excepting this 10% , complete 90% is in our hand i.e. we can change the NIYATI ,in 90% of the things happen in our life.
